====================================================== 17/2/2012 ROADTRIPZ TO THE FUTURE YOUTH PROGRAM Our first 'Roadtripz To The Future' program has wrapped up this month. Myself and the 30 kids involved have been going out every week riding BMX tracks and skateparks all over Sydney for the past 15 weeks. rewarding to introduce a bunch of kids into that community. Skatepark, where every participant received a new Acadamy Aspire BMX. Then we went out to Camp Wollemi for 2 days of swimming, bushwalks and Goodtimes. Im looking forward to riding with all the boys in the future and doing some bmx roadtrips to other cities. Big thank you to: All the kids who completed the program + And the Australian Federal Government.
====================================================== 27.12.2011 NEXT TOUR.....Jan 10th - 12th( This trip has been postponed Date TBA) KEMPSEY- GOLDCOAST-NIMBIN-BYRON-MULLUMBIMBY This will be the 3rd tour we have done with the Kempsey crew. We have had the best times ever with these guys and this trip should produce some more amazing sessions. Leaving Sydney on Jan 9 we will pick up the boys in Port and Kempsey on the 10th and head straight for the big bowls and beach on the Gold Coast. The new skatepark in Nimbin is big, fast and smooth with some original lines to be riden. Mullum skatepark is small, old and has some weird mellow trannies but for some reason you cant help but have a good session there. I guess when ur in a small chilled out town like that u cant help but be happy. At the end of this tour there will also be the annual Blake Butterfield Memorial Jam.
====================================================== BONDI BEACH WALL MURAL The Waverley Council recently gave us a 20m section of the art wall along Bondi Beach. With the help of George Rose, we had a bunch of the local young skaters paint a mural for the first stage of the wall. I asked the boys what they wanted to paint and they replied "A skater grinding a shark" So thats what we painted... ====================================================== 14.10.2011 'ROADTRIPZ TO THE FUTURE' YOUTH PROGRAM Roadtripz is currently running a 12 week Program for Indigenous teens of Sydney. There are 30 participants who join the bus once a week and we go riding and skating at all the best skateparks, trails and street spots Sydney has to offer. Along with that we sneak in a few other activities such as Bowling, paintball, Moto-X, Camping, and swimming to keep it interesting.
====================================================== ALL GIRLS TOUR #1 Last weekend 8th/9th October was the first of the All Girls Tours. The idea of these regular trips is to create something that brings the girls BMX/Skate scene together without the shitty vibe of a competition type event. So on Sat morning we had the girls on the bus in Canberra and we headed for the South Coast of NSW. Even tho we got a bit of rain over the weekend we managed to sneak a few solid riding sessions in at Batemans Bay BMX Track, Batemans Bay Skatepark, Ulludulla Skatepark, lunch stop at the famous Milton Vegetarian Cafe. Thanks to all the girls for coming along: Lise, Mel, Sarah, Leah, Emily, Christine, Sophia, George and Hope. And big thanks to Pete for driving the Van and keeping us entertained with life stories. Cant wait for the next one at the beginning of 2012.

2.10.2011 TERRIBLE ONE AUSTRALIAN TOUR EDIT I love the vibe of the T1 edits. "We Love Colorado", ( which is playing at the Sydney Bike Film Festival this month) is one of my favorite T1 films. Joe Rich always captures the feeling of each particular trip and makes you wish you were there. Joe just uploaded his latest edit from the "Lets Didgeridoo This" Tour of OZ. We were lucky enough to do this trip in the Roadtripz bus. T-1 "Let's Didgeridoo This" Australia 2011 from joe rich on Vimeo.

3.9.2011 'LANKY' JOINS ROADTRIPZ One of my best freinds and possibly the best human ever born Mark Ryan has joined Roadtripz as projects manager. Mark is one of the most enthusiastic and fun guys to be around. Just dont offer him a seat. He tends to break them. ====================================================== KEMPSEY TO NORTHCOAST TRIP #2
The Kempsey/Port Mac guys have been supporting Roadtripz since day one. I first met these guys last year, while passing through Kempsey on a BMX team Tour. We have had some unforgettable sessions at Kempsey and up the North Coast to QLD. Recently we did the second Kempsey to North Coast tour. The group was slightly different to the original trip and it was awesome to get to know some other riders from the area. Jacob, Molefoot and myself left Sydney for a non stop mission to Brodie's house in Kempsey where we met up with the rest of the crew. Early start the next morning and we head off for the Gold Coast. Look out for the next issue of 2020bmx mag for the story. On this trip...... Joel Easson, Molefoot, Jacob Denford, Brodie Butterlegs, Nate Himsley, Eithan Cairncross Jett Man, Jack Gibson, Matt Kocis, Zac Wilson and myself.

TERRIBLE ONE TOUR....SYDNEY TO ADELAIDE I dont know where to start writing about this tour. Any T1 fan will appreciate this chance of a lifetime, to spend 3 weeks travelling with one of the most influencial and legit bmx teams in the world. This tour was everything i expected and turned out to be possibly the most fun, relaxing, motivating, educational 3 weeks of my life. The riding was rediculous but the highlights were: the never ending search for the ultimate frisby/aerobee field, Rusty and the aerobee sacrifice off the 12 apostels, the coffee sessions, Metalica Orion sessions, Ryan Lloyd's giant ditch jump, Billy May's youtube dubs, Southpark Nicccce, Tom Dugan boosting the bejesus out of everything, Tom's stop light make outs with a bmx mum, Emily Brindley's cupcakes, Five Dock Jam, Danny's candy bar photoshoot at Bondi, Great ocean rd, having one of the last rides at Kooks Trails, Jamies Moore eating a rats claw. So many awesome memories. Huge thank you to Damo for driving the bus and being a chiller in general. Thanks to Jamie @ Stowaway for the support and opportunity to be a part of such a rad tour. DISHONOUR TOUR....SYDNEY TO ADELAIDE WORDS BY JAMES WADE @ DISHONOUR
This edit has been waiting to see the light of day for a few months now, the deal was that I didn’t want to release it before the roadtrip article ran in 2020… what would be the point in running an article in a mag if you release an edit months before, yaddamean? Anyway, bit of background if you’re interested. In March, we went on a whirlwind 5 day roadtrip from Sydney to Adelaide. The crew that came along were Tom Blanch, Chris Barnes, Will Gunn, Sam Illman, Mikey Mc Mah, Mozzy, Brock Olive, Jaden Roxburgh, Jake Shepherd, Tenna and Brad Wright we’re rolling pretty deep these days, so it was rad to get almost all the homies on a bus! Jason Cousins from Roadtripz was steering the wheel, Dre Regli was clocking clips and I was shooting some photos. No more words, here it is: Sydney to Adelaide Roadtrip Edit from dishonour brand on Vimeo.

ANCHOR BMX TOUR.....MELBS TO NEWCASTLE Terrible One's Leigh G and his crazy, loose, ummmm eccentric? group of riders, who would usually be shredding the famous Fitzroy Bowl and everything else in Melbourne decided to plan a roadtrip from The Anchor BMX Shop to Newcastle. We camped out and the boys road loads of street along the way. One stand out stop for me was camping in a country town where the old highway used to run through. It was pretty obvious that the town used to thrive on the traffic flow before the new highway by-passed them. Was cool to see how they offer free camping and addapted the town to suit travellers stopping for an overnight stay. Big thanks to Anchor for using our Roadtripz bus and for inviting such a rad and fun crew for the trip. A couple of photos from one of the camp spots:

2011 BMX GAMES CANBERRA Myself and the boys at Backbone BMX spent ten of the hottest days of the year building the dirt course for the recent BMX games in Canberra. A few days out from the contest and the jumps were still needing a bit of tweeking before they were ridable. Luckily all the locals put in some hard work and got it done just in time. Looks like it was a good night.

22.1.2011 LUX TOUR. Its been a huge fortnight for the Roadtripz bus. We left Sydney for Brisbane and with a stop at Byron and Nimbin along the way. After meeting some space cadets in Nimbin continued to Brisbane where we met up with the boys at LUX bmx for the LUX tour. We left bright and early Sat 8th and headed north for the Sunshine Coast. We managed to get a good day of riding in on the first day and an awesome night of partying at Rainbow Beach. Sunday morning we woke up to super heavy rain and news that the highways were closed and we may be trapped in by floods. We made the decision to head off and see if we could find a way back. After a sketchy drive through some flooded dirt tracks we luckily made it back onto dry roads back to Brisbane. By this time the city was flooded and we were stressing about the shop being under water. Evan and Mitch prepared for the worst but fortunately the river didnt reach the height they expected. This was an eye opening trip. Definately left with some intense memories and met some really good people from the LUX krew. Here is the edit the boys put together. 26.11.10 NEWTONS NATION BMX DIRT JAM. Last week Dan Baker, Will Gunn and myself spent a few days in Bathurst building the Dirt Jumps for the Newtons Festival this coming weekend. We arrived to see a thousand loads of dirt and a 20 ton excavator to do some damage with. With all the rain we had during building we were a little scared that we would be left with a big pile of mud, but luckily the sun came out on the last day and we were able to get some shape to the jumps. Here are some photos from the excavation stage. Note > The jumps were still rough and have since been compacted and ridden in.
