DISHONOUR TOUR....SYDNEY TO ADELAIDE

This edit has been waiting to see the light of day for a few months now, the deal was that I didn’t want

to release it before the roadtrip article ran in 2020… what would be the point in running an article in a

mag if you release an edit months before, yaddamean?

Anyway, bit of background if you’re interested. In March, we went on a whirlwind 5 day roadtrip from

Sydney to Adelaide. The crew that came along were Tom Blanch, Chris Barnes, Will Gunn, Sam Illman,

Mikey Mc Mah, Mozzy, Brock Olive, Jaden Roxburgh, Jake Shepherd, Tenna and Brad Wright

we’re rolling pretty deep these days, so

it was rad to get almost all the homies on a bus! Jason Cousins from Roadtripz was steering the wheel,

Dre Regli was clocking clips and I was shooting some photos.

ANCHOR BMX TOUR.....MELBS TO NEWCASTLE

Terrible One's Leigh G and his crazy, loose, ummmm eccentric? group of riders, who

would usually be shredding the famous Fitzroy Bowl and everything else in Melbourne

decided to plan a roadtrip from The Anchor BMX Shop to Newcastle.

We camped out and the boys road loads of street along the way.

One stand out stop for me was camping in a country town where the old highway used to run through.

It was pretty obvious that the town used to thrive on the traffic flow before the new highway

by-passed them. Was cool to see how they offer free camping and addapted the town to suit

travellers stopping for an overnight stay.

Big thanks to Anchor for using our Roadtripz bus and for inviting such a rad and fun crew for the

trip.

VANS SKATE TOUR EDIT

The Roadtripz bus recently had the Vans skate team on the bus for the Off The Wall Tour

Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne.

More partying went down than skating but Leigh Bolton managed to get a good edit out of it.

We just finished an amazing tour with the Animal/Skavenger Team thanks to Stowaway Distro.

Some crazy riding went down and good times were had.

2011 BMX GAMES CANBERRA

Myself and the boys at Backbone BMX spent ten of the hottest days of the year building the dirt

course for the recent BMX games in Canberra.

A few days out from the contest and the jumps were still needing a bit of tweeking before they

were ridable.

Luckily all the locals put in some hard work and got it done just in time.

Looks like it was a good night.

LITTLE BLACK BIKES TOUR EDIT

The Roadtripz bus recently visited Adelaide for the Little Black Bike Tour.

Adelaide, Port Augusta and Port Lincoln over 3 days.

We had a great bunch of friends and camped in some epic spots including the best beach

i have ever seen.

Anybody visiting Adelaide must visit the Little Black Bike Shop.

If you ask enough time Jack might give u a rap.

BLAKE BUTTERFIELD MEMORIAL JAM...KEMPSEY

On Jan 15th the Roadtripz bus stopped in to the Kempsey Jam put on by shredder and

damn good guy Brodie Butterfield in memory of his younger bro Blake.

I was peronally stoked to be able to be a part of the jam. Super chilled and fun vibe

and the sun was out.

We rode non stop all day. Massive trains over the famous Kempsey hips. Epic park, raddest krew

and the afternoon session will be one i never forget.

LUX TOUR.

Its been a huge fortnight for the Roadtripz bus.

We left Sydney for Brisbane and with a stop at Byron and Nimbin along the way.

After meeting some space cadets in Nimbin continued to Brisbane where we met up with

the boys at LUX bmx for the LUX tour.

We left bright and early Sat 8th and headed north for the Sunshine Coast.

We managed to get a good day of riding in on the first day and an awesome night of partying

at Rainbow Beach.

Sunday morning we woke up to super heavy rain and news that the highways were closed

and we may be trapped in by floods.

We made the decision to head off and see if we could find a way back.

After a sketchy drive through some flooded dirt tracks we luckily made it back onto dry roads

back to Brisbane. By this time the city was flooded and we were stressing about the shop being

under water.

Evan and Mitch prepared for the worst but fortunately the river didnt reach the height they

expected.

This was an eye opening trip. Definately left with some intense memories and met some

really good people from the LUX krew.

LittleBlackBike Tour.

The Roadtripz bus is in Adelaide this week fo the LittleBlackBike tour. Adelaide to Port Augusta and

Port Lincoln.

Adelaide has the raddest bmx scene i have ever seen. Huge bunch of super nice guys,NO bitching,

Good parks, Trails in the middle of the city and at the centre of it all is a rad BMX store. LBB

How it should be.

NEWTONS NATION BMX DIRT JAM.

Last week Dan Baker, Will Gunn and myself spent a few days in Bathurst building the Dirt Jumps for the

Newtons Festival this coming weekend.

We arrived to see a thousand loads of dirt and a 20 ton excavator to do some damage with.

With all the rain we had during building we were a little scared that we would be left with a big pile

of mud, but luckily the sun came out on the last day and we were able to get some shape to the

jumps.

Note > The jumps were still rough and have since been compacted and ridden in.

HELL ON WHEELS BLAZING BOWLS ROADTRIP.

Roadtripz recently hooked up with the Hell on Wheels crew to do a team tour.

We left from Sydney and went searching for all the big bowls along the North Coast

of Nsw and the Gold Coast.

Anybody who enjoys big fast bowls and has not been to the Gold Coast must go there.

At least 5 Epic skateparks all within 30mins drive from each other.

We were lucky enough to have John Young on the trip to capture our adventures.

NORTH COAST ROADTRIP

Sept 11th we set off from Sydney up the coast for a long weekend of camping, beaches and riding

the best bowls in Australia.

We picked up the boys from Port Mac and Kempsey along the way, filling the bus with some of

the best guys i have ever met.

Amazing weekend and hopefully we can get the same crew together again for round two.

Big thank you to Jacob for driving the bus and Brodie and his family for giving us a place to stay

on the friday night.

NORTH COAST ROADTRIP.

On the 10th of September we will be starting our North Coast Roadtrip.

Leaving Sydney in the morning to pick up the Port Macq crew late afternoon.

First night will be spent at Kempsey.

Sat morning we leave super early in the morning with the Kempsey crew and meet up with

the Lizmore crew and everyone in betweeen.

BLAZING BOWLS ROADTRIP

The Hell on Wheels Team trip ended a week of riding the best bowls in the country

and hanging out with loads of cool people.

We left Sydney and headed north to the Gold coast. Stopping along the way at Kempsey

where we met up with Kempsey shredder Brodie Butterfeild.

Brodie let us sleep at his house and even cooked us all breakfast the next morning.

Big thank you to Brodie and his family for letting us invade the garage for the night.

After a super fun ride at Kempsey we headed up to the goldcoast where we were camped

for the rest of the trip. We rode so many amazing parks on the gold coast. It is definately

a bowl riders paradise.

THIS IS THE ROADTRIP.....

Pambula is on the South Coast of NSW just before the Vic border. Its a rad little beach town

with one of my favorite parks ever. What makes it even more enjoyable to ride is the fact

that it was hand built by the local skaters and bmxers NOT some concreting company who takes $100,000 and leaves a useless peice of shizzy..

Local scene is amazing, some of the best skaters iv ever seen flowing the park like crazy

with no shoes.

Leaving Sydney Friday night 13th August riding Weston Creek where we will stay the night.

Early start on Sat, across to Batemans Bay, Ulladulla and onto Pambula for a bbq @ the skatepark.

Early ride @ Pambula then over to Tarthra for our last session on the trip.

Leg it home early afternoon, ariving back in Sydney late Sunday night..

We just got back to Sydney from another super fun trip with the Canberra crew.

The Roadtripz bus picked up a bus load of Canberra locals on Saturday and drove

up to Sydney for a day of riding Monster and Fivedock skateparks.

Im pretty stoked on the bmx scene in Canberra and the riders that have been on the bus

are always super chilled and just psyched to be riding. Im looking forward to doing more

Roadtripz from Canberra in the future. There was talk on the bus of doing a Canberra, Batemans

Bay, Pambula trip soon. Also a Batemans Bay, Canberra to Sydney for an overnight trip, so keep

checking this page for updates.

CANBERRA TO MONSTER DAYTRIPZ

This Saturday is the first Canberra to Monster Daytrip. The Roadtripz bus will doing Daytripz

from Backbone BMX to Monster Skatepark on July 3rd , July 10th, July 13th.

We have our own private session for 3 hrs with use of the park and foampit. After lunch

we drop into fivedock Skatepark for more riding......

For those of you who are under 16yrs you will have to download this Waiver

and have your parents sign it before leaving Backbone on Sat. (under 16yrs need to do this).

AND most important BRING HELMET!!!! We need helmets to ride Monster.

Daytripz cost $75 per seat and includes full use of Monster Skatepark..

DUBBO TRIP.

This Long weekend was the Roadtrip to Dubbo. Another Eppic Roadtrip, with another awesome

crew. As it turned out we ended up having 13 of the most dialled riders in the country. Watching everyone ride the big bowls that the west has to offer was amazing.

BACKBONE

DAYTRIP TO BATEMANS BAY JAM

With a week of rain in Sydney and Cyclone warnings for south coast, we were

not sure if the jam would be on. 5am Sat i pick up Tom Crawford and we set off

for Backbone BMX in Canberrra.

We rocked up, rain pooring down, expecting to see nobody and there are 13 riders

psyched for a roadtrip!

We load up the bikes and continue on in the rain to Batemans Bay. The bus had NO

tunes but luckily we had Backbone ripper Billy and his amazing stories

and Chris Harti with his mind blowing questions for example ...... " What is the internet?

Its like fire......Seriously what is it? Can you touch it?........faaaark . ...... what is it?" haha

2hrs of driving and still wet but the rain has stopped just as we pull into Batemans Bay.

Quick Breakfast stop and we head to the park.

To our suprise the skatepark is full of locals riding and the sky was clearing. YEEEEW

Ye Old Bondi is my local Skatepark and iv always wanted to get the crew together for a daytrip

so here it is. Goulburn has an amazing skatepark with big trannies and endless lines and most importantly

it is rarely crowded.

We will also be stopping at Campbelltown and Marulan Skateparks for a quick sesh.

Last weekend was the Dirtpipe Jam in Mt Beauty. I personally was looking forward

to this trip for months. We had an awesome crew, an amazing dirt halfpipe to ride

and a weekend of hanging out with friends. Seriously one of the best weekends of

my life. Dave C, Joe Bell , John Young, Xave Koen , Rowan Williamson , Benn Pigot,

The first job for Roadtripz

We met up with the triple six team in Melbourne, loaded up the bus and head off up the

coast.14 riders, Eleven days, 4 states and some amazing riding.

2010 REDBULL DIRTPIPE 7th May to 9th May

So the word on the street is that the event is on again this year. Everyone had a blast last year so it should be a really fun weekend. This is an invitation only event, so unfortunatley i can only ask the riders involved to come along. You all know who you are.

I figured its going to be cold so we have booked cabins for the two nights 7th and 8th May. Fully self contained with heaters, dvd, etc

Cost $ 220

includes : Transport there and back, Cabin bed for two nights and transport to and from event each day in the bangbus.

Depart Central station Frid 7th May early morning. time TBA

Return : Sunday 9th after the Jam finishes.Arriving back in Sydney late.

Get in fast cos we only have ten seats left motherlickers.

THE MAIDEN VOYAGE

This weekend was the first Roadtrip that was open to anyone to come along.
We had a rad crew, so it was always going to be a laugh.

Friday

We left Sydney on friday night and headed South towards Shoalhaven to camp for the night. We ended up stopping at a Kangaroo Valley camp site for the night, where we were greeted by a freindly, but creepy security guard who was standing in a dark paddock in the middle of the forrest.

Im pretty sure that camp ground is a mating ground for some of the most rare animals on the planet. There were some pretty strange animal calls thru the night, but none were louder than the water buffullo in our trailer.

Saturday

Set off early for Shoalhaven heads skatepark. We drove thu some amazing rain forrest along the way.

The first riding session of the trip and everyone was keen to have a roll. Fun little bowl with good, fast lines everywhere and a little street section.

After a swim at the beach and some lunch we were back on the road. Next stop Ulludulla.

Everytime i go to Ulludulla i am suprised at how good it is. Perfect spine, good hips, fast lines, cool locals and in one of the most chilled little beach towns on the east coast. Half of the crew rode, the other half chilled and had a drink.Was definately one of the fav stops of the trip.

Late evening we continued on down the coast to our camp site for the night in Durras South.

We arrived at 7pm to set up our tent and everyone was impressed at the campsite. Restaurant, Swimming pool, Live entertanment and bar. All right on the beach.

We all got a good feed at the bar with some beers and some had more beers and slept on the beach in the rain haha

Sunday

Another early start. Everyone was keen to get to Canberra to ride and skate.

Breakfast stop in Batemans Bay. Everywhere we ate created kaos in the kitchens that werent ready for 14 hungry customers.

First stop in Canberra was Woden skatepark. Lots of good lines, weird obsticles, hips, spines, wall rides

pretty much everything including a million kids on scooters. Altho they were quickly scared off when

Sailor Pete turned up and mowed two of them down on his first run. haha yeah Pete

From here we drove to Tuggeranong Skatepark. The plan was to ride and have a BBQ but the wind was fast and cold so we bailed to the pub in hope it would die down enough to get a solid session in at Weston Creek.

Everyone had a pub meal and more cheap beers and we were off to Backbone BMX shop.

Gotta say a big thanks to Rhysty for taking time out from his family and bathroom renovations and opening

the shop for us. Raddest dude to ever ride a bmx.

We hung out at the shop long enough for the weather to clear up and then Weston Creek skatepark.

It was so good to see the weather clear up for us. This was the best park on our trip.

Junior was straught into it, blasting higher than i have ever seen over the hips and 360ing the spine so high.

Tully shredding the bowl on his board was so good to watch. I think there were even a few Yeeeew Birds watching on from the trees.

Drive home to Sydney was so good. Rowan, Evan, Strat, Donga had eveyone in tears.
